After being featured on the graphic of the Greatest Royal Rumble advertisement, which takes place in Saudi Arabia on April 27th, reports have suggested that both Rey Mysterio and The Great Khali are set to return for the event.
Their participation in the much anticipated pay-per-view would most likely come in the form of the 50-man Royal Rumble match; in which, superstars such as former Unified WWE Tag Team Champions Chris Jericho and Big Show will also be returning.
Mysterio, who won the 2006 Royal Rumble, has been heavily linked with a full-time return to WWE since his last Rumble appearance back in January this year, where he entered at number 27.
However, Mysterio, who also won the WWE Heavyweight Championship in 2006, has been working laboriously on the independent scene since his elimination in the last Royal Rumble; courtesy of Finn Balor.
The WWE Universe have expressed their desire to see the 5'6 Mexican-born high flyer back on the main roster; nevertheless, it seems that family commitments are at the forefront of Mysterio's schedule, meaning we may not be seeing the masked man sign a new official contract for quite some time.
The Great Khali, who stands at 7'1, has not made an appearance in the WWE since aiding Jinder Mahal's retention of the WWE Championship in his Punjabi Prison match against Randy Orton back at Battleground in July 2017.
Mysterio and Khali infamously faced off back in 2006, in which the 346 pound Indian superstar executed a Khali Vice Grip before performing a Punjabi Plunge on the physically inferior Mysterio - which allowed his second win in the WWE.
Despite one-off appearances, neither Mysterio or Khali have competed in a WWE ring since 2014; therefore, both of their returns are anxiously awaited.
